Iranian Teenage Qaris Attend Ramadan Quranic Program in Baghdad

IQNA – A number of teenage qaris from Iran took part in a special Ramadan Quran recitation program in Baghdad, capital of Iraq.

The qaris of the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), who have traveled to Iraq to take part in the Tarteel reading of the Juzes (parts) of the Quran, recited verses from the Holy Book, al-Kafeel website reported.

The program is annually organized in Ramadan by the Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine of Hazrat Abbas (AS).

The Aeimma al-Baqi Mosque in Baghdad hosts the program every day during the holy month, according to Nabil al-Saedi, director of the Baghdad branch of the Quran Institute affiliated to the Astan.  

He said it is aimed at promoting the reading and recitation of the Quran and the Quranic culture among all sections of the society.

Al-Saedi added that 75 more such programs have been launched by the branch in other parts of Baghdad where more than 250 qaris recite one Juz of the Quran every day during the holy month.
